From my family to yours: two more Ancestor Card suggestions!

#1 After some time playing with our first Ancestor Card deck, my family has decided that it may be ideal to produce two “Joker” cards in addition to the 52 standard cards with ancestral information in four suits.
Our reasoning: We like our ancestors too much to declare any one of them the “Old Maid” when we want to play that game. And we imagine having a couple cards that are easily identifiable as Wilds or other non-standard play cards may be handy in other games as well.
Good news: Most of the printing services I have found online list one set price for an up-to-54-card custom deck. So printing 54 cards instead of 52 will likely incur no extra cost. What are you waiting for? Call up the family for design submissions for your “Jokers”!
#2 One of my children came up with rules for a game we call “You Know.” It’s a twist on the classic game of Uno that will test players’ memories about their ancestors. You can download full instructions here:
We would also LOVE to hear what other families do with their Ancestor Cards! Please share by commenting on this post or sending me a message 🙂
Happy playing!
